What Cryolipolysis Actually Does

When the Crystal Pro applicator draws the targeted fat deposit into its cooling plates, the subcutaneous fat tissue is brought to the precise temperature at which fat cell apoptosis is initiated — typically between −9°C and −11°C — while the contact cooling on the skin surface is maintained at a temperature that ensures the overlying tissue is not damaged. The fat cells in the targeted tissue enter a controlled inflammatory process — panniculitis — that activates the body's macrophage response over the 8–12 weeks following treatment. The macrophages progressively engulf and transport the apoptotic fat cells to the lymphatic system, where they are permanently eliminated.
