For overall skin quality and anti-ageing, PDRN is used for patients whose primary concern is the diffuse loss of firmness, luminosity, and vitality that accumulates with age and environmental exposure — and whose skin does not yet have the structural volume deficits or the laxity that fillers and lifting treatments address, but whose quality has declined in ways that are visible and that no topical programme has resolved. For post-acne skin quality restoration, PDRN is used for patients whose skin has been left depleted — in quality, in evenness, and in vitality — by a period of significant acne activity or treatment. The anti-inflammatory modulation of A2A receptor activation addresses the resulting quality deficit in a way that is specifically appropriate for sensitised, depleted post-acne skin.
